Our favourite wedding suppliers

Although we are no longer hosting weddings at Villa Rustica, we are excited to introduce you to some wonderful suppliers we’ve worked with over the years. These are the people who work tirelessly behind-the-scenes preparing for each event. Read below to see how their creative input can make your wedding day even more special than you imagined!

Most wedding venues in our area recommend appointing a wedding planner and our preferred planner and stylist is Emily from Elope Byron Bay. Emily has that rare ability to listen to her client’s wishes as well as being a fabulous stylist! She gives as much attention to an intimate elopement for two people as a celebration for 20 people. We loved watching Emily and her team transform our Pavilion into a beautiful celebratory space.

Mikarla and Maddie from Wilderness Flowers also warrant special mention. This is the creative team behind a floral installation that went viral on instagram! The design approach was to create a ceremony backdrop where the florals contrasted with the natural tones and earthy finishes of the villa to achieve a soft yet stunning setting.

Mikarla prefers to stay away from restrictive floral trends and focus on the flowers of each season. In saying this, Mikarla adds: “We are currently loving the micro flower movement, which involves using pillowy full clouds of things like chamomile daisies and geraldton wax. Flowers also have different meanings and sentimentality, and we enjoy using the language of flowers to express the couple of the day.”

Sometimes food is overlooked in all the excitement leading up to the wedding! This is when ordering a platter is the perfect solution for either before the ceremony or for guests to nibble on when photos are being taken of the bridal party. Platter Me Beautiful is our go-to supplier for platters. I remember meeting Ash shortly after she started her business and she shared her vision to create ‘grazing platters to take you on a mouthwatering grazing adventure of the delicious produce from our region.’ Platter Me Beautiful is now a favourite with locals as their platters add an instant ‘wow’ factor to any celebration!

And have you thought about how you are going to arrive or leave the wedding venue? May The E.K is a glamorous way to arrive at your wedding with its old school romantic vintage feel. The 1962 EK Holden is driven by the only female chauffeur driver in the area. Kirsten acts as a stand-in bridesmaid and is there on the day to assist with your photos, fluff your dress and is a calm presence who can sort out any emergencies that may happen on the day - Kirsten has saved a few wedding gowns with her styling kit which she keeps on board May The E.K! Enjoy the magic of cruising through the Byron hinterland to vintage love songs after your ceremony in May The E.K, a memory which will last a life time.

We have enjoyed being part of the celebration of so many couples and also meeting the people working behind the scenes.

We wish you a beautiful wedding day and a love-filled future!
