Shannon Garson One Day Workshop at Villa Rustica

Explore the world of ceramic colour and drawing without using glazes! Join renowned artist Shannon Garson for a one day workshop. This demonstration workshop is a rare opportunity to observe Shannon making and discussing her unique and outstanding work.
The day will include detailed demonstrations of Shannon's unique approach to drawing and surfaces using a mix of underglazes, oxides and glaze stains.

Demonstrations include:
- Mixing subtle colours using blends of glaze stains, underglazes, oxides and slips
- Creating textured surfaces using sgraffitto and water erosion
- Getting fine details into your decoration, using negative space, line and pattern
- Layering multiple techniques on a vessel or three dimensional ceramic form
- Facing the unknown- what to do when you are at a creative crossroad (how to unblock yourself in the studio!)
- Creating a design from found objects or inspirational images
