Garden Mosaic Workshop
Join us for a fun and creative Garden Mosaic Workshop where you’ll learn to make a beautiful mosaic art piece for your garden.
Make a colourful mosaic stepping stone or birdbath for your garden with resident artist, Jane Denison. This 6-week course is perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike.
Jane will guide you through the design process, materials needed for external mosaics and finishing techniques so that your mosaic will be a feature in your garden for many years!
Course and Booking Details:
The course is for 6 weeks from Monday 19 June to Friday 30 July 2023 at Villa Rustica.
Students book into 6 sessions of 3 hour duration, 18 hours in total.
You may attend a specific class weekly (eg. every Monday afternoon) or fast-track the course by attending every session over two weeks!
Session Times:
Monday afternoons: 12.30 to 3.30 pm
Friday mornings: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
Saturday mornings: 9.30am to 12.30pm
Please note that all 6 sessions must be completed within the course period as this is a one-off class.
Course fee: $320

About this class:
This workshop is suitable for beginners and those seeking to extend their existing knowledge of mosaics. We’ll be working in both the direct and indirect method of mosaic-making, and there is opportunity to experiment with different materials and processes.
If you complete your mosaic before the end of the course, Jane can assist with your next project. Students will need to purchase their own materials for subsequent projects as we do not sell mosaic tiles.
What to bring:
All materials are provided for this workshop.
We recommend bringing safety glasses if you do not wear eyeglasses, and to also wear closed shoes as we’ll be working with glass.
Please also bring along any special personal objects you wish to include in your mosaic.
Mosaic Studio:
Our classes are held in Bella, a fully equipped mosaic studio, in the beautiful grounds of Villa Rustica. The studio is a warm, creative environment where students are encouraged to explore their creativity.
Complimentary tea and coffee facilities are available, and the studio has a refrigerator if you wish to bring a snack.
Your teacher:
You will be instructed by Jane Denison who has been making mosaics for over 20 years. Jane has undertaken private commissions including wall murals, floor and swimming pool mosaics, and she brings this expertise to the classroom. Jane is also a member of the Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand.
