Upcoming Art Workshops

Greetings fellow-creatives,

Our plan to hold small artisan workshops throughout this year has temporarily been put on hold due to the situation surrounding COVID-19. Hopefully, social distancing will flatten the curve so this pandemic passes quickly.

The response to our candlemaking and mosaic classes held early this year has been very positive! The photos below give a glimpse into these enjoyable sessions.

Our popular 2-hour candlemaking workshop is for small groups where you come away with a candle filled with soy wax and your favourite fragrance. We love these classes as they combine Greg’s handmade vessels (which can later be used as keep-cups) with my knowledge of candlemaking. This workshop is also extra special in giving you a private tour around the property while we chat about its colourful history. We also get to enjoy a glass of bubbles in the Pavilion overlooking the Moroccan courtyard!

Our mosaic classes are held one morning each week and students chose to work on a project for either 4 to 8 weeks. These relaxing classes have 4 students per class, and everyone receives careful guidance and plenty of hands-on experience.

With winter coming along, we’re hoping to hold some raku clay days in our new outdoor kiln space. Raku firing is a lot of fun as we gather around the gas raku kilns – never quite sure how our pieces will emerge from the flames!

Greg and I are spending this quiet time in our studios embarking on new projects. We feel blessed to live in a rural environment where fresh vegetables are available from roadside stalls but our hearts go out to those directly affected by the virus.

We hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.

Best wishes,

Jane
