Sculpture for Mosaic Workshop
Caitlin Hepworth’s Focus on Form workshop was a remarkable experience bringing to Villa Rustica nine artists from across Australia. Over the course of three days, Caitlin shared her knowledge of sculptural forms and guided participants in creating their own design. Each attendee arrived with their unique concept, and worked on building either a free-standing, base and rod or relief hanging form. The atmosphere in the classroom was supportive and collaborative, as we assisted each other to achieve our goals.
On reflecting on the workshop, Janet said: “I learnt so much by attending this workshop and watching everyone’s sculptures emerge. I am pleased with my sculpture, and realise that if I chose the right mosaic, it will enhance rather than just clothe the form.”
