Welcome to Villa Rustica
Nestled in the heart of the Byron Bay hinterland, Villa Rustica embodies the harmony of rustic charm and artistic beauty. With its ochre stucco walls, elegant arched doorways and a sunken Moroccan-style courtyard, the villa’s atmosphere is both inspiring and welcoming.
Although owners, Jane and Greg, have stepped back from hosting overnight stays and weddings, Villa Rustica continues to be a favourite location for photoshoots and filming.
Jane and Greg also love sharing their passion for art through mosaic and clay workshops, which are open to anyone—whether you’re a beginner or more experienced creator.
For those who appreciate hand-made ceramics, Greg’s work is a joy to explore. From his well-loved tableware collections to his unique wood-fired pieces, each creation tells a story. While our online shop is temporarily on pause as we build up inventory, we invite you to visit our studio to experience his unique works firsthand.

Location Hire
Villa Rustica provides a character-filled backdrop for location hire. The villa’s ivy-clad columns, weathered timber doors and textured walls evoke timeless European style in a tropical garden setting.
Mosaics
Creating mosaic art has been Jane’s passion for over two decades. Jane specialises in translating religious icons into mosaic in a studio overlooking the picturesque waterways surrounding Villa Rustica.
